The Digital Health Law in Germany comes into force
Key content blocks (Dr. Gottfried Ludewig):
-> Apps (Software as a medical device) can now be prescribed and have access to the statutory health insurance market / reimbursement
-> Telemedicine is strengthened and will be reimbursed
-> Open interfaces are now mandatory and companies which don’t play by the new rules will be excluded from the market.
Digital Health solutions will need to be validated in a probation period to maintain reimbursement. Attached one example for a medical and economic impact.
